The Most Valuable Network is an independent media company relying on the volunteered time of sports fans to blog, or write on the Internet, about their favorite teams and leagues. MVN aggressively explores what a sports blog network can do and continues to pave the way during this exciting time in history where convergence journalism is becoming the preferred media.

This summer, MVN.com will be re-launched in an effort to better serve a community of sports fans. Focusing on producing a higher quantity and stronger quality of content in addition to implementing a more sophisticated publishing platform, the Most Valuable Network intends to set itself apart from other online destinations.

MVN is seeking staff bloggers to produce new media content related to MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, fantasy sports and more sports (e.g. auto racing, boxing, golf, soccer and tennis). These paid positions report to the respective league directors.

Responsibilities:

+ Work within a team of staff members to coordinate consistent coverage across tags on MVN.com.

+ Assist in the production of MVN’s monthly webzine, Roster, by contributing feature-length columns on an occasional basis.

+ Maintain a public presence on MVN and in the blogosphere, serving as an advocate for the network. Staff bloggers will be expected to participate in MVN’s marketing efforts.

+ Produce roughly 9,000 words of content for MVN each month by completing writing assignments given by directors in your area of expertise. It is expected that 9,000 words translates to 10 short blog posts, four long blog posts and one feature-length magazine article each month (or a similar breakdown).

+ Compensation is $100 per month.

MVN is also seeking individuals to produce audio and video content related to MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, fantasy sports and more sports (e.g. auto racing, boxing, golf, soccer and tennis). These paid positions report to the content director and Web administrator.

Responsibilities:

+ Write, prepare and host a five- to 10-minute video segment at least once per week, to be completed and delivered before 1 p.m. ET on an assigned weekday.

+ Host or contribute to at least one podcast or live broadcast event each week.

+ Collaborate on the development of ideas for show topics and themes.

+ Compensation is $100 per month. Except for a suitable computer, all necessary equipment is provided.
