Web Design/Development Blogger

Description

WANTED: BLOGGERS TO WRITE ABOUT WEB DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT & WEB INDUSTRY NEWS

We are seeking a handful of experienced bloggers to create daily content for sitepoint.com. This job will offer you the ability to work from home with autonomy, and directly influence the front page content on one of the most highly trafficked web development sites on the Web.

We're looking for four bloggers to contribute 5 posts per week on topics of interest to freelance web developers and designers. Posts may include freelancer tips, tricks, resource lists, demonstrations, news, interviews, product reviews, or editorials. Though we’re primarily interested in content that relates to freelance web developers and designers, we’re also open to hiring exceptional bloggers who can write with authority about related topics, such as tech news, business, productivity, SEO, entrepreneurship, graphic design, programming, online marketing and more.

Pay is offered at a very competitive per post rate with generous traffic bonuses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Bloggers will be responsible for 5 posts per week
* Posts must be spread out over the entire week (i.e., we’re not looking for 5 posts every Monday!)
* Posts should be at least 300 words in length, and should generally average 400-600 words
* Posts must include at least one image (so familiarity with basic image editing is a plus)

REQUIREMENTS

* While previous blogging experience is not required, it is helpful
* You possess a strong command of the English language—ideally we’re looking for writers whose posts require little or no editing
* You are a current or former freelance web developer or designer (we want someone who can write from experience)
* You have a familiarity with Wordpress

Blogger positions will be offered on a contractor basis.

How to apply

Apply for this job by emailing the following to editor@sitepoint.com:

* your resume (please don't send us a generic resume—focus on your writing experience)
* an indication of your availability (remember we're looking for 5 posts per week)
* the topics that you would like to cover for sitepoint.com (e.g. design tips and tricks, developer tips and tricks, freelancer tips, web industry news, etc)
* some examples of writing that you have had published online elsewhere
