How-To Geek
is looking for aUberGeeky Tech Writer Guy
Description
How-To Geek is looking for 1 or 2 part-time geeky tech writers to join our team.
More specifically, we're looking for writers capable of coming up with how-to/tutorial articles covering Windows 7, Vista, XP, MS Office, Ubuntu, or similar topics.
======================================
REQUIREMENTS:
======================================
* You must be a geek at heart.
* You must be able to write articles that are easy to understand.
* You must be able to take a screenshot in crystal-clear PNG format. Don't even think about using a horrible pixelated JPG around me.
* You must be able to follow our style guide.
* You must be able to come up with ideas on your own, and take suggestions like a pro.
======================================
PAYMENT
======================================
Writers will be paid on a monthly basis, $20 per article. If your article manages to hit the front page of Digg, you will receive an incentive payment of $20, although honestly I couldn't care less if we get on Digg... I'm just offering this perk since everybody else does.
Payment can be made via Paypal or check, your choice.
How to apply
Send an email to i.am.supergeeky@howtogeek.com and include the following in your email:
* Explain why your geek skills are worth touting to 75,000 readers each day.
* Your name and location. We'd prefer US-based, but that's not a requirement.
* Any previous experience you have with writing, not necessarily with blogging.
* A brief overview of the topics you are familiar with, and what operating systems/computers you have access to.
