Tech/ News Blogger
The Inquisitr is looking for a blogger to cover tech and general news.
Our ideal blogger will have some experience blogging, although blog network or large site experience isnâ€™t necessary. You should be able to work independently, including sourcing suitable content for posts, and editing your own work prior to publication. You must have the ability to write tech (web) and general news posts, and some ability to contribute to our other streams (particularly odd+ funny news). You should also have a reasonable sense of humor, be occasionally snarky, and be fairly broad minded when it comes to content. The ability to write a straight news piece, and then throw in the occasional opinion piece is a big plus.
You will be expected to write a minimum of 4 posts a day, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday US time. While we will consider applications from anywhere in the world, these posts primarily must go up during the US daytime, between 6am and 6pm US Eastern. If you are unable to post during these hours, we are unable to consider your application.
Posts must be a minimum of three paragraphs per post, with the occasional exception. While that doesnâ€™t mean a strict word count, posts would be roughly a minimum 100-150 words. We use the words minimum as a guide only: if youâ€™re looking for a position where you do the absolute minimum required in every post, please donâ€™t apply.
In return, you will receive support: weâ€™ll teach you where to find content, what content works well, and the best ways to present that content on the site.
Your application should include links to your work online (in the email please) and why you think youâ€™re up to the job. You should also include any relevant experience in the body of the email.
The position starts at a fixed rate of $1000 US dollars per month, paid monthly in the month following (usually the 5th) via Paypal. Increments to the starting rate are offered with time served and based on general performance.
Note that given our last experience in advertising a position, we may not be able to respond to each application, however if you are unsuccessful we will keep your details of file for future opportunities. Unsuccessful applicants for the CPM based positions advertised in March will be considered for this position.
