First Blog Media

is looking for a

Podcasting + New Media Blogger

Category: Podcasting

Description

First Blog Media is looking for a capable blogger to file 3 articles/week (at an average 400 words/article) on the topic of podcasting and new media. You will be expected to engage with people in the comments, but will have the freedom to do so at your discretion.

This is for a brand new blog, so there's a tremendous chance to take initiative and shape its direction. It's going to be a challenge and it's not for everyone, but if you're highly motivated, competent, and a self-starter, you can and will excel at this opportunity.

A good candidate is familiar with the writing styles of Problogger and Copyblogger and can comfortably write with a similar, engaging and friendly voice.

Pay:

We don't advertise (it's a company blog) so pay is a competitive $22/article. We can talk about incentive pay for social media traffic, but it's not our first priority and the onus is on you to convince us it makes sense.

Addendum:

It's okay if you have limited exposure to podcasting, provided you are willing and able to compensate for your 'virginity' with hard work. Learning as you go (and taking risks/making mistakes) is totally acceptable. Making excuses is not.

How to apply

Send an email to brian@firstblogmedia.com with the subject PRBLG FBM 032. Include writing samples (links are fine) as well as education info and relevant blogging/podcasting experience.

Also:

Include 3 possible headlines written in the style of Copyblogger (vis a vis http://www.copyblogger.com/10-sure-fire-headline-formulas-that-work/). Examples:

How I Doubled Hits to My Podcast with 14 Minutes of Work
7 Mistakes that Kill New Media Novices (and How You Can Avoid Them)
How I Used Podcasting to Increase My Blog's Monthly Income 121%

Never mind if you wouldn't know how to write the articles at this point... this is an exercise to demonstrate you understand the anatomy of headlines that sell.
