Extra Geeky Tech Writer

Category: Co-blogging

Description

Online Tech Tips is looking for 1 or 2 part-time geeky tech writers to join our team. More specifically, we're looking for writers capable of coming up with how-to/tutorial/review articles covering Windows 7, Vista, XP, MS Office, Freeware Apps, Ubuntu, Web 2.0 sites, Gadgets, or similar topics.

======================================
REQUIREMENTS:
======================================
* You must be a geek at heart.
* You must be able to write articles that are easy to understand.
* You must be have excellent English grammar skills. We’d prefer people who grew up with English as their primary language. Do NOT apply if your English is not top-notch.
* You must be able to take a screenshot in crystal-clear PNG format. Don't even think about using a horrible pixelated JPG around me.
* You must be able to follow our style guide.
* You must be able to come up with ideas on your own, and take suggestions like a pro.
* You must have a strong work ethic and be available long term. I need someone who does what they say and is not going to quit after 3 months.

======================================
PAYMENT
======================================
Writers will be paid on a monthly basis, $20 per article. If your article manages to hit the front page of Digg or gets a lot of traffic from StumbleUpon or many bookmarks from Delicious, you will receive an incentive payment of $15, although honestly I could care less if we get on Digg... I'm just offering this perk since everybody else does.

Payment can be made via Paypal or check, your choice.

How to apply

Send an email to akishore@online-tech-tips.com and include the following in your email:

* Explain why your geek skills are worth touting to 80,000 daily visitors each day.
* Your name and location. We'd prefer US-based, but that's not a requirement.
* Any previous experience you have with writing, not necessarily with blogging. Samples of work would be preferred.
* A brief overview of the topics you are familiar with, and what operating systems/computers you have access to.
