Our health Web site is seeking two or three writers to post one to four 150-word fresh or breaking health news items daily to our continuously updated heath news ranking page, for $5 per item paid via PayPal.

The focus is health, including diet, nutrition, fitness, medical news, women's and men's health, health policy, celebrity health, and a bit of food. Items must be news, linked to a source site--so we're not looking for unsorted, evergreen general health tips or advice: The linked-to source site is the authority, not you.

We have a mainstream medical orientation (as apposed to alternative or integrative health), but we like a little bit of funny, weird, or tabloidy news in the mix. We aim to cover the major health stories in the mainstream media, but we appreciate the obscure find in a blog or research journal.

Each item requires several fields to be entered:

-- A title, subtitle, and human readable URL

-- A 120 to 160 word summary of the item, plus a shorter blurb and a Twitter tweet

-- The name and URL of the source Web site article

-- Links to previous related items on our site (we supply a search engine)

-- SEO-aware tags

-- The URL of an image to accompany the item

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

-- For other jobs is already following health news via an RSS feed of major media sites, blogs and other sources, and who wants to leverage that knowledge for additional incremental income

-- Has basic CMS experience, such as WordPress (we use a proprietary CMS)

-- Has grammar, style, spelling, and copyediting skills (because items don't go through an editor and are instantly posted to our site and to Twitter), and can write concisely

-- Can search out images using Flickr or Google Images (but no image editing is required, just the URL)

-- Has SEO awareness and can think like a Google user
