URBAN GARDENING WEBSITE LOOKING FOR WRITERS – THIS IS A PAYING GIG!
A new urban organic gardening site focused on how urban dwellers can grow food in their own backyard with the space available to them. Focused on gardening tips, dirt to dish recipes, the organic food movement (covering topics such as GMO’s, natural pesticides, etc.) and managing an “urban farm” with a busy lifestyle. We also have a gardening store with products which should be incorporated into the copy organically.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• 1 – 2 Blogs per week
• Each story (if it fits) ideally should be connected to a separate recipe
• Blogging voice: funny, clever, down to earth, have a true point of view, sincere

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU:
• Have at least 2+ years' experience in professional writing
• Have a love of gardening and you grow your own food organically
• Love food and writing about it
• Will take photos where appropriate or assist in getting a photograph if needed
• Understand the organic food movement and are aware of the important topics as well as the cutting edge ones
• Have experience with and use daily:
o Social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon, etc.
• Are proficient in technical tasks associated with blogging:
o Wordpress/blog publishing
o SEO, tagging
o Image sourcing and cropping,
o Use of google keywords
o Know the best practices for linking and social media.
• Have prior professional writing experience
• Can provide at least 3 links to high quality published work.
