UX Blogger

Category: Blog Networks

Description

* Are you an experienced UX Designer?

* Do you enjoy teaching others how to create engaging, usable web and mobile interfaces?

* Do you want to be part of a new website that will train the next generation of user experience designers?

If you answer "yes" to these questions, read on.

UXMastery.com is looking for a feature writer to provide content for its blog on a weekly basis (from 1-3 posts per week - to be negotiated).

Posts need to be of a high quality, and demonstrate experience in having applied user-centered design principles to web and mobile projects.

This is a blog aimed at helping beginners learn more about UX design. There is enormous scope for different topics, including:

- Research (Surveys, User Interviews, Contextual Inquiries, Journals, Analytics)
- Synthesis (Personas, Scenarios, Mental Models, Affinity Diagramming)

- Design (Sketching, Storyboarding, Wireframing, Prototyping)
- User Testing (In-person Testing, Remote Testing, Testing Tools)

Posts will need to be largely 'how to', 'tips' or 'tutorial' based. The more practical, the better they will be received by readers.

The following how-to post is a good example of the kind of practical advice we're looking for:

Note that candidates MUST be native speakers of English. In addition, the following skills will be especially advantageous:

* ability to create basic illustrations (using Illustrator, Photoshop, or another tool) to accompany posts
* experience in managing a social media account (e.g. Twitter & Facebook)

How to apply

To apply, fill out the application form at the following page:

http://uxmastery.com/write-for-us

It will ask you to submit:

* your name

* a brief rundown of your relevant experience (including websites/apps that you have designed)

* at least one sample of your writing about User Experience Design
* some suggested post titles/topics that you feel you'd be able to cover
* your favourite online resource for learning about UX design, and why it's your favourite
* any other relevant information

Please make this submission by Monday 12th November.

Once the cut-off date arrives, we will collate the responses and shortlist the most appropriate applicants.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to arrange a Skype chat with the UXMastery.com team. They will also be invited to submit a trial post to be used on UXMastery.com (you will be remunerated for this) to see how your writing is received by readers, and to give you a feel for whether it's a fit for you as well.

After all trial posts from shortlisted candidates are published, you'll be notified as to whether your application has been successful. This process will take several weeks.

This is a paid position. The payment package will be negotiated and will include some financial payment (per post) as well as promotion of your own profile in our bylines on the site.
