How to apply
If after looking around on TodayIFoundOut.com, you think you'd be a good fit for writing for us and are still interested, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line "Writing Application"
In the email, please tell us:
-A brief rundown of your writing/researching experience
-At least one sample of your writing (up to 5 samples can be sent)
-ballpark amount you think you'd charge per article for the types of posts you see on Today I Found Out. Keeping in mind that we typically look for between 1000-1500-ish words per article; in all likelihood on each article you'll need to do research before writing; and topics themselves will typically be given to you to research and write on, rather than you needing to come up with them.
-You can also send us any other information you think is relevant.
We'll look over all the applications over the next couple weeks and create a shortlist of the best. Those shortlisted applicants will be contacted and asked to do a trial article (you will be paid for this post).
The purpose of this trial post is both to see how you do on it and also for you to get a better idea of the process of doing an article for Today I Found Out, so you can see if you'd like to write further articles for us.
From the shortlisted candidates, 1-3 will be chosen to start regularly writing articles for Today I Found Out.
Payment will be per article. Both the number of articles per month and amount paid per article will be negotiated once you're selected.
