Passionate technology bloggers wanted

Category: Blog Networks

Description

Do you live and breathe sites like Slashdot.org, techmeme.com and digg.com? Are you up to date with the latest developments in technology, and its various sub cultures? Do you enjoy breaking stories, creating controversy, and making a name for yourself?

As part of our expansion strategy, we've created five new blogging positions to build on our existing team of eight writers at tech.blorge.com (and associated blogs).

I’m looking for people who want to be stars, who want make a difference, and who want to be part of something really special.

I'm looking for writers to cover the following areas in particular:

1. Games consoles - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii
2. Cool gadgets and mobile phones
3. Microsoft, Linux, Google
4. Security, eg viruses and Trojans
5. Macintosh, Mac OS and Apple
6. Off-beat IT related stories

While an interest in one or more of these areas would be an advantage, generalists are still invited to apply.

If you just want to churn out mindless blog posts about topic X please DON'T apply. Please be aware that blogging requires hard work, commitment and perserverence. If you tend to give up easily, this is not for you.

You don’t necessarily need to be a professional blogger right now, as training will be provided, but what we are looking for are writers who are hungry for news, and are passionate about writing.

So what do we have to offer?

1. The support of our experienced writers via our private blogging forum
2. Training to help you become an elite blogger – we’ll help improve your skills – although experienced bloggers are also invited to apply.
3. Payment – we offer an innovative pageloads-based payment system which means that the earnings on your posts are not capped, and you continue to earn money from all your posts while you’re with BLORGE.com. At the same time, we also offer a minimum guaranteed payment per post.

How to apply

If you’re interested please email some samples of your writing to writers@blorge.com. Don't forget to provide an indication of what areas you'd be interested in covering.

Selected candidates will be provided with more information about the payment system and will be invited to write a test article.
